The Skyrim devs. admit that they knew the PS3 version was broken... they just didn't know how broken.

"This s#!t's broken!"
According to an interview with Kotaku at the DICE Summit last week, Todd Howard and the rest of the development team knew about the memory problems plaguing the PS3 version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, but believed that only "a small percentage" of gamers would encounter them.

Resident Evil: Revela[i]tons Pre-Game!

I'm praying for a good Revela[i]tons cover art....
Since I live in South Korea, I usually have to wait at least a week to play the games that others are enjoying right now.  So I pass the time with reading as many reviews and stories on my en-route games as possible....

My experiences with Skyrim patch 1.04 (UPDATE!)

After two months of waiting for a fix for the PS3 version of Skyrim, I can now finally play the game the way that it was meant to be played, and so can you!

The impact of trophies and achievements in video games

Is trophy and achievement hunting changing the way people play and enjoy games?  It certainly has changed the way that I experience titles.

My thoughts on Shadow of the Colossus HD

Bring on the lynch mobs and calls for my crucifixion: I think that the cult-classic Shadow of the Colossus is a colossal exercise in patience.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo impressions (UPDATE!)

So after 30 minutes in Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, am I still as excited as I was going in?

IGN reveals their game of the year....

IGN recently announced that Portal 2 came out the winner as their GOTY.   You can check out their awesome announcement video here. I'm not sure if it's my personal pick, but it's definitely in the running. If you haven't checked it out: smack yourself in the head, get in your car, fasten your seatbelt, and drive to a store where you can buy this game. Do it. Do it now. Then come back and thank me later.

What do you think? Do you agree or disagree? Sound off in the comments below!

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo available today!

The upcoming rpg from 38 Studios and Electronic Arts, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, will have a demo available today (January 17th) for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. In case you haven't been paying attention, Reckoning boasts a very powerful lineup with names such as Todd McFarlane, creating the artwork, R.A. Salvatore, creating the extensive world and lore, and Ken Rolston (lead game designer of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) at the helm.

38 Studios has reportedly teamed up with BioWare to create and release content specific to both Reckoning and the upcoming Mass Effect 3, which has a release date of March 6, 2012.

If you play the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo, you're going to unlock two awesome items for Mass Effect 3 after its release:

-Reckoner Knight Armor: This will be unlocked after installing the demo.
-The Chakram Launcher: This weapon will be unlocked after completing the demo.

Installing and playing the Mass Effect 3 demo will net you daggers based on Shepard's Omniblade for use in Reckoning. After purchasing Reckoning, you will also be treated to the N7 Armor.

The Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo will allow players to drop right into the game. You'll be able to create your character, play through the tutorial mode, and even experience 45 minutes of this massive open-world game.

Separate from the Mass Effect 3 unlocks are the extra items that you'll also get for use in Reckoning:

-Twist of Fate Card
-Twinned Souls Chakram
-The Infernal Helm

So what do you think? Will you be trying out Reckoning? If so, what version will you be playing? If you enjoy your time, make sure you run to your favorite game store and pre-order to receive even more in-game content (there certainly seems to be a trend here...)!

More Pushmo for your pleasure

You know it, you love it, now get out there and get some more Pushmo!

Starhawk beta coverage incoming this week.

The Starhawk public beta is just a day away for Playstation Plus subscribers. As a Plus member, I will be downloading and sampling the beta when it comes to the PSN on January 17th (for North America). Make sure, if you're a Plus member, to get on and try out one of the next Playstation exclusives from LightBox Interactive and SCE Santa Monica Studio.
If you aren't a Plus subscriber but purchased Uncharted 3, you may join the beta starting January 31st. All other standard PSN members will have to wait until February 21st to jump into the action.
If its predecessor, Warhawk, is any indication of how good this will be, then Playstation 3 owners will be in for a treat when the game launches later this year!

REVIEWED: Sony's Wireless Stereo Headset for PS3

Sony describes it's new-ish Wireless Stereo Headset as "The Ultimate Audio Advantage". Does the product live up to this bold claim or does it belong in a neglected corner to gather dust with those terribly uncomfortable iPhone ear-buds?

Club Nintendo and a used game solution

It is becoming a tired debate among those in the video games industry and those who converse of said industry as to who should pay the price for used video game sales. Some will justify the multiplayer or content codes that some game designers enact to combat used sales as an appropriate measure for securing profit from years of hard work. Others will argue that the game developers are greedy corporations who tax the poor by blocking off sections of a game until a code is used or a fee is paid. Unfortunately everyone can agree that it takes quite a bit of cash to produce video games for this generation. So what is to be done to satiate the industry which needs funding and the gamers who might not be willing to pay full price? I believe that Nintendo has the answer to this question.
