The upcoming rpg from 38 Studios and Electronic Arts, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, will have a demo available today (January 17th) for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC. In case you haven't been paying attention, Reckoning boasts a very powerful lineup with names such as Todd McFarlane, creating the artwork, R.A. Salvatore, creating the extensive world and lore, and Ken Rolston (lead game designer of The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) at the helm.
38 Studios has reportedly teamed up with BioWare to create and release content specific to both Reckoning and the upcoming Mass Effect 3, which has a release date of March 6, 2012.
If you play the Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo, you're going to unlock two awesome items for Mass Effect 3 after its release:
-Reckoner Knight Armor: This will be unlocked after installing the demo.
-The Chakram Launcher: This weapon will be unlocked after completing the demo.
Installing and playing the Mass Effect 3 demo will net you daggers based on Shepard's Omniblade for use in Reckoning. After purchasing Reckoning, you will also be treated to the N7 Armor.
The Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning demo will allow players to drop right into the game. You'll be able to create your character, play through the tutorial mode, and even experience 45 minutes of this massive open-world game.
Separate from the Mass Effect 3 unlocks are the extra items that you'll also get for use in Reckoning:
-Twist of Fate Card
-Twinned Souls Chakram
-The Infernal Helm
